About Us

The Center for Theology & Culture is an academic research and dialogue platform dedicated to fostering interdisciplinary engagement between Orthodox Theology and various fields of culture. Established within the Faculty of Orthodox Theology at Babeș-Bolyai University, the Center serves as a dynamic space for scholarly exchange, bridging theological tradition with contemporary cultural and intellectual trends.

The Center has been operating since 2008 under the name “Center for Nomocanonical Studies”, and due to the expansion of research areas, the name was changed in 2020 to “Center for Missionary and Nomocanonical Studies”, and in 2024 it became Center for Theology and Culture.

Vision

Through collaborative projects, conferences, and academic publications, the Center fosters a space where theological inquiry meets cultural creativity, offering fresh perspectives on tradition and modernity. Scholars, students, and cultural professionals are invited to participate in our initiatives, contributing to a deeper and more meaningful conversation between theology and contemporary culture.
